With some minor exceptions, the game is well balanced. Try another troll angle. kthx ---

I LOL'd...
People who are using this thread to complain about balance are totally missing the point. Say what you want about me, ***lord, but bugs and game balance are different issues. If you think the game isn't balanced then you are just terrible at it and you don't know how to play. That's your problem. Not mine, and not CCP's. Shut up.

Originally by: Bomberlocks I think that just about does it for me. I'm paid up until the end of the month, but I don't think I'll be renewing next month.
Considering your corp-name, this looks like a good move. All the best...

Originally by: Max Torps This entire situation should never have arisen. We should never had to reach this point and have panicked although rather detail free posts from senior CCP members, a divide forming between fanbois and those who just want to play a game, or even roundabout, back slapping discussions over interpretation of what a minute is.
Just to weigh in with the other side of this, max. If the CSM had explained how CCP's teams work, which issues are in which queues, and how they are prioritized, a lot of the posts in this thread wouldn't have been needed. The CSM is supposed to be a two-way relationship right?

Originally by: CCP Explorer Rockets - by design, fw timers - defect, Tier1/Tier2 - by design, AFs "missing a bonus" - good question, don't know, it depends on what bonus it is "missing" and why. Exploit - defect.
It took you 36 pages to say that Rockets will not get fixed for the next two years?
No, I never said that. I was asked to clarify the distinction between a defect and a backlog item and there were a few examples. I dug through our defect tracking system and this has indeed been reported and the comments and the resolution status indicate that this is by design. A couple of comments: (*) The design is of course subject to review based on how much work is involved, based on if and when Game Design can address the issue, based on what they think of the issue and based on player feedback. But I can't speak on GD's behalf. (*) There may be an opportunity in the next years to address the issue but I know that GD has a long list and I don't know where this issue in their list.
First, I want to issue a *trolled* warning for you, Explorer. Take it from me, some of these people are just trying to get you to respond, even though they've already stated that they are going to quit the game. Let them go. Emotional attacks about balance issues are just people who are mad because they found out that cross-training to other races is a necessary part of the game.
Second, reading the last five pages, I'd have to say that overall people in here are happy with the game. If they weren't basically happy they wouldn't be typing so much. Certainly there are things to fix, and improve, but CCP has now done the CSM's job for them and articulated how the internal process works at a software company.
Keep on truckin'!
Love,

Originally by: Ebisu Kami Eat or die? Is that all you can say? Did it never cross your mind even remotely, that people actually like the premise of this game and want it to stay the best space-based MMO out there? Is it really so far off your radar, that you do not even notice, that people are fighting for this game instead of just giving it up, letting it fail and becoming a completely random and increasingly defunct... thing?
You see things in extremes, like a little child. Let me tell you a little story about computer games. Gather around, my children. Uncle Faeces has a tale for you --
There once were two nerds named Minh and Jesse. They liked to pretend to save the world, so they wrote a free game called Counter-Strike. It was a round-based anti-terror shooter for PCs. It was wildly popular attracting over 3.5 billion player minutes per month. People liked this free game so much that they played all day and all night on servers all over the world.
One day, a nefarious group called "myg0t" released a set of cheating tools. These tools were called OGC! OGC let you ruin everyone's day and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Most servers were decimated by vigorous and continuous r*p*.
Minh went to Jesse and said, "Whatever will we do? Our players are unhappy and they will leave us!" Jesse heard all this but was unmoved. Minh continued, "Should we deploy anti-cheating patches to fix our game?"
Jesse comforted his friend, "Do not be afraid, Comrade Minh. As long as people want to save the world by shooting people on their computer, they will play our game!"
Minh was apprehensive but he trusted his friend and they both went away. Counter-Strike was broken but still more and more people wanted to play! A few years later Minh and Jesse returned, having now written a new version of Counter-Strike that wasn't free!
Minh and Jesse got paid, and they both lived happily ever after (probably in California (by the bay)).
Now, can any of you tell me what the morale of that story is?

Anti-cheat software is ridiculously profitable, all hail punkbuster?
No. I will send 1mil to the first person who can explain the morale of the story.
Also, it is worth noting that myg0t quit counter-strike and became goonswarm and PL.

Now give me my 1mil or I swear to god your dead (ingame)
No, Alia. Trolling is what everyone else is doing in this thread. I'm all about the devblog. No cookies for you.

Originally by: Phantom Slave The moral of the story is that even though there's all these little problems (and some very large ones) in EVE, CCP's decision to continue on with new shiny stuff is the right one. If CCP stops too long and fixes all the old bugs they don't get new players (they get some return players though) and the game becomes stagnant, because if the game doesn't excite somebody as it is right now then fixed stuff they don't care about won't either. Only new, shiny stuff grows the playerbase because it allows a greater variety of playstyles.
<3 CCP. Fixing old stuff should be more of a priority, but not at the cost of new content. Perhaps to appease the playerbase 3 months out of the year should be 50% new and 50% fixing, while keeping it at 20% as it is currently for the other 9 months.
Very good, Mr. Slave. Sending isk...
Let this be a lesson, boys and girls - Uncle Faeces has candy for you.

Hey CCP,
Can you just do a quick ban on the morons who are organizing legal action in this thread? Its not about the dev-blog, or in any way related to the discussion of gaming. Besides, if they were serious about it they would never do it here anyway. Its obvious posturing by a bunch of people who aren't lawyers.
Thanks,
O. Faeces
